I'm Ryan, a passionate Psychotherapist dedicated to helping others navigate life's challenges. Over the past decade, I've had the privilege of connecting with individuals, couples, and teens, guiding them through their unique journeys. As a member of the LGBTQ community myself, I take pride in fostering an authentic and inclusive therapeutic environment.
In my practice, I specialize in trauma-informed therapy, utilizing approaches like EMDR alongside evidence-based methodologies such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and Solution-Focused Therapy. My focus is on genuine human connection and honesty, steering clear of pop psychology to create a space where your experience feels real and true to you. Let's embark on this journey together, where authenticity and empowerment are at the forefront.
about me
My professional journey has played a pivotal role in shaping the clinician I am today. It began at CPC Behavioral Healthcare, where I started as an intern and quickly transitioned into the role of Crisis Clinician and in-home therapist, supporting families and children through the NJ Children’s System of Care.
I take pride in my comprehensive approach to therapy, drawing from evidence-based modalities and personalized interventions to support each individual on their unique journey toward healing and growth.
Following this, I continued my work in Addiction Recovery Services, specializing in adolescent and adult populations grappling with mental health and substance use concerns. This diverse experience has provided me with invaluable insight into addressing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and relational issues among my clients.
I obtained my B.A. in Psychology from Monmouth University and my Master of Social Work from Rutgers University. Licensed in both New Jersey and New York, I bring a wealth of expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Finding the right therapist is a challenge all of its own. But finding one you can relate to is important because fit matters. So, what's my approach?
I believe we're all looking for the same thing: to be heard and understood. My approach is rooted in relational therapy, emphasizing the development of the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for healing. I advocate for a focus on the human experience over pathologizing mental health and understand that cultural differences, societal pressures, and life's inherent chaos impact our mental well-being in profound ways. While I do have a clinical side and apply therapeutic modalities, my priority isn’t stamping a diagnosis on you and calling it a day; it’s all about truly standing by the power of the therapy bond.
When I am on in session I try and limit over pathologizing the human experience, Today, we are caught up with labeling every little thing. I want to take a wider look at how our society, culture and world are impacting you, not just a list of symptoms in a book. I think taking this perspective can help you feel less alone and less of a diagnosis code someone needs to treat.
Therapy should be an easy process, which is why my practice revolves around candid conversation, genuine connection, and collaboration to elevate joy in everyday life. Overall, I’m here to listen, to empower, and to make sure you feel safe, heard, and validated every step of the way. I may be a psychotherapist, but talking to you as one human to another, you deserve no less than that.
I look forward to speaking with you and, better yet, getting to know you.
